Records of Czech organizations Bardoun was active in or had an historical interest in, particularly the district council of the Workers Gymnastic Union and its various Cleveland units (Buckeye, Karl Marx, Lassalle, Mt. Pleasant). Included are minute books, correspondence, publications and newspaper clippings, as well as Bardoun's manuscript general history of the Cleveland DTJ and its unit divisions. Included are records re: the Vojan Singing & Dramatic Society, Taborville, American Labor News, the American Sokol Organization, the Bohemian National Hall, the Czech-American National Alliance, the Czechoslovak National Council of America, the Czechoslovak Social Democratic Organization, the Czechoslovak Society of America, the Ohio Grand Lodge of the Unity of Czech Women, and misc. other Czech groups. Also included are personal papers of Frank Bardoun containing autobiographical material, scrapbooks and clippings. The collection also pertains to socialism in Cleveland, Czech fraternal development, gymnastics, the socialist response to the Depression, the ethnic response to World War II, ethnic fraternal insurance development in Cleveland, and women's history.

Prominent Czech-American from Cleveland, Ohio involved in several local and national Czech-American organizations and activities, particularly the Workers Gymnastic Union (Dělnické Tělecvičné Jednoty), founded in Cleveland in 1909 by Czech Socialists.
